One of such places, where they want to be creative with their pizzas is the Sicilian Pizza and Pasta in Nashville, in the state of Tennessee. The name of this local may sound like one of those generic pseudo-Italian places, that almost every town in the United States has, but it is far from that. This is really an authentic Italian place, so here are a few words about it.

It is located in downtown Nashville, in Church street. A great thing about it is that it works till 5 AM. so even if you drop in that late, you can order a pizza at any time as their kitchen works until the local closes and not like in most cases, an hour or  two before it.

This place really manages to keep what is good about pizzas and the best part of it is that you don’t have to limit yourself with the menu. Of course, that is not to say that they don’t have a very rich menu, with plenty of pizza choices and other Italian pastas, but you should never pass on the opportunity to make a pizza with the ingredients that you want in it. Of course,  reach one of these ingredients cost a little, so the more you put on it, the more it will cost you. But don’t worry too much, your pizza will probable not cost you more than 20 or so dollars. I think that this is a very good price for making a pizza with your mark on it.

You can do this on the phone, or you can order online, which quite surprisingly, not many places do yet. I don’t if the people don’t have a habit of ordering food online or what it is, but that’s just the way it is.

Of course, pizzas are not the only thing that you can order here. You can also get a Calzone, Stromboli, pastas or sub sandwiches as well as some appetizers or beverages. And even deserts. Normally, all of this has a strong Italian, particularly Sicilian background.

They accept cash as well as all of the major credit cards, like Visa, Master or Diners and, in addition to this, they also have their own coupons, which give you the chance to order another pizza for less money.

All in all, whether you are going to go directly there and eat at Sicilian Pizza and Pasta, or you are going to order one to be delivered, you won’t regret it in any case.

Once I got there, and rang the door bell, he lived in a nice little house, nothing too fancy or big, just a living room, kitchen, two bathrooms and two rooms upstairs, one his and the other, smaller one, for guests. There was also a garage with a nice red Chevy in it (unfortunately I really don’t know much about cars, so I have no idea what model).

We spent a good part of the day just laughing and remembering the good old days and what we did that time. We remembered people we met, places we went to, all that stuff. Of course, a few beers were necessary as well. After a couple of hours, I started getting hungry, so I asked him if he had something to eat, He told me that he doesn’t, but that’s okay since he has a number of this really good Italian place and that he was going to order a pizza from them.

The place is called Sicilian Pizza and Pasta and, from what I understood later, talking to him and some other people who heard about it, it was a really popular place in Nashville. I was just about to find out why.

We agreed on a large bacon double cheese pizza, with provolone, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, bacon and beef. It was around 17 dollars, I remembered because I offered to pay a share, but Henry would have none of it. After a few minutes of “heated” discussion, we agreed that I could at least buy us some more beer, since we were running out on it.

Honestly, I really can’t remember when was the last time I had such a good pizza. Its crust was just crunchy enough and not hard, all of the ingredients were fresh and, what is most important, it was still hot when they delivered it. We ate the whole thing by the end of the day.

I slept at Henry’s since I was too tired to drive that evening and he had plenty of room as it is. When I was about to live, we agreed that he visits me next time in Ne Jersey. There was just one more thing to do before I left Nashville and that was to visit Sicilian Pizza and Pasta for another of their delicious pizzas.

By the time I reached the state of Tennessee and the city of Nashville in it, it was already around 2 in the morning. In this situation, after driving for the better part of the day, most people would just find a soft bed and let dreams take them away, but I was also incredibly hungry as well. You see, the last thing that I had eaten were some chips about four hours ago.

I immediately started scouring the area for a place that would even work or serve food at this hour, but for a time, I couldn’t find any. A few of them were open, but all I could get there was what is left of their coffee, which really wasn’t much. I was about to give up my “hunt” and just take a room for the night, when I saw a sign for “Sicilian Pizza and Pasta”.

As I really love pizza and all kinds of Italian food, I decided to try my luck here. What joy! Not only were they opened, but after inquiring about it, the waitress also told me that the kitchen was opened.

I checked the menu, which was really rich and ordered a Sicilian Stromboli, with sausage, peperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. To tell you the truth, it was really good, considering what time of the day (or rather night) it was. Of course, what I needed was just something warm and tasty to eat and Sicilian Pizza and Pasta provided it. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you much about how thick it was and whether the crust was okay or not. The bottom line is that I ate it in a few minutes. Now, whether this is because I was really hungry, because it was that good or because of both, I really can’t tell. Most likely both of those.

Next morning, after a really good night’s sleep, I awoke at around 11 AM. The first thing that I did, after checking out was go to Sicilian Pizza and Pasta and to order another pizza there. This time, it was a regular Sicilian pizza, with salami, Italian sausage, green peperoni and onions. This one was really good as well.

Unfortunately, I had to go once I ate it, but whenever I happen to be in Nashville and area, I’ll make sure to stop by here for a really good pizza.
